Biography: 

A marketing and communications professional with a focus in higher education and non-profit organizations, Alice Hutzel-Bateson, MA, has 20+ years’ experience in communications, marketing, and public relations. For 10 years, she served as the director of marketing and public relations at The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College, which included developing and implementing marketing plans for two institutions to drive student enrollment. Her experience includes creating comprehensive marketing campaigns for specific programs, website management and redesign, developing annual reports and working with both faculty and staff across campus. In 2015, Alice taught social media marketing for the Central Ohio Technical College business division. In the past, Alice established a PR and event management consulting firm and worked with a number of organizations in Richland County.

Prior to joining the Alber Enterprise Center at Ohio State Marion, Alice served as Editor of Heart of Ohio Magazine. Her private sector marketing and sales background combines with her higher education marketing experience for a broad skillset and understanding of various marketing challenges and opportunities. She joined the Alber Enterprise Center recently, with a desire to build on its brand awareness statewide, market the center’s customized training and development programs to businesses and organizations, and promote its courses to individuals seeking to enhance their skills. Alice and her family reside in Bellville and she has a passion for bicycling, beautiful farms, Ohio, and singing.
