Raymond A. Schindler Excellence in Community Development Extension Award Update

Great news: We have received four nominations for The Raymond A. Schindler Excellence in Community Development Extension Award. The winner will be announced at the OSU Extension Annual Conference in December.

Reminder: 2019 OSU Extension Annual Conference

You are invited to attend and participate in the 2019 OSU Extension Annual Conference – Land-Grant Fierce: Meeting the Challenge. The work we do as a land-grant institution is even more critical today than at possibly any other time in our more than 100-year history. Our ability to braid together our three missions of teaching, research, and Extension to bring the knowledge and resources of The Ohio State University to all of our statewide campuses and beyond is invaluable. We are optimally poised as a land-grant to make a difference in the life of every Ohioan through our partnerships, products, processes, and people.

The Annual Conference will be held December 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus. Accommodation information, as well as all conference information, can be found here. Conference registration will be emailed soon.

Please email me (civittolo.1@osu.edu) if your proposal was accepted.

2020 IEDC Membership

We have invested in an organizational membership with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for 2020. What does this mean? State CD funds have already covered the first membership to the organization, which enables you to join at a reduced rate (using your funds) of $190. If you are interested in renewing or joining, please remember to request your supervisor’s approval prior to purchasing. The benefits of membership can be found here.

How do you purchase this membership? If you are renewing, you will receive a renewal statement. If you are joining for the first time, please contact Adele Smith at 202-223-7800, IEDC membership associate. Provide your contact info (name, title, etc.) and indicate that you are with Ohio State University Extension. She will then bill you at the $190 individual membership rate.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Congratulations

I want to congratulate Gwynn Stewart and Godwin Apaliyah for creating a new fact sheet: Rural Transportation Programs and Their Benefits.

Have a great week and remember: "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."  ― Walt Disney
