Strengthening Extension Work Through Foundations of Practice
OSUE-Community Development is hosting the second annual ÔAll-Extension' Fall Conference, ÒStrengthening Extension Work Through Foundations of PracticeÓ on September 25, 2007. Dr. Ken Martin will provide the keynote address,
Community Development, Foundations of Extension Work which will be the basis for afternoon roundtable discussions involving Extension personnel from Ag/NR, CD, FCS, and 4H program areas.
The afternoon roundtables are designed to enable participants to learn:
- How to use and implement existing program resources to build community capacity
- The expected impacts of these resources
- The key partnerships that help make these programs successful, and
- How the programs work toward the seven themes.
Presentation of your program resources in this roundtable format is requested!
Proposals will be accepted on the basis of their relationship to the 7 key Extension themes:
Strengthening and Enhancing Communities, Neighborhoods and Families
Creating Opportunities at the Rural/Urban Interface
Enhancing Ohio 's Educational Capacity
Maintaining and Enhancing the Natural Environment
Creating Jobs for Ohio through Entrepreneurial and Value-Added Strategies
Growing Ohio 's Green Industry and Agriculture
Enhancing Food and Health
Presentations are to be 10-15 minutes in length followed by a short question and answer period. Additional materials can also be distributed. In addition to building on one or more of the seven themes, each program should address one of the three educational areas outlined in the 2004 CD Strategic Plan. For more information go to
