Rental Space Helps Enable Watertown Volunteer Fire Department to Sustain Services
Several projects have been completed with funds secured by OSU Extension - Washington County through the generous sponsorship of the Marietta and Belpre Area Community Foundations. These projects directly impact a majority of the residents in Washington County.
Enabling communities to be better positioned to sustain their services is an ongoing challenge, and one such project addressed this issue.Creating a kitchen/community room (pictured) in their newly constructed fire department building not only provides additional rental space for resident and community events, but helps the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department sustain their services with revenue from the rental fees. Much of the work on this project was completed using volunteer labor, and additional funding support came from the Muskingum Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.
